FIELD NOTE · v0.4.2

Dumpster vs. haul-away vs. truck + labor

The useful question is not which label sounds cheapest. It is who will load, how the material can be reached and how quickly it needs to leave.

01

Start with who is loading

A container-style path makes the most sense to discuss when you expect to load material yourself over a period of time.

Haul-away starts from a different condition: the material is ready, visible and accessible enough for a removal crew to collect it.

Truck + labor belongs in the conversation when the material still has to be carried, sorted, broken down or moved through the property before it can be loaded.

02

What changes the answer

The best path depends on the material, the access, how much handling is still required and whether you need the load gone at once or want time to fill it.

  • Who will do the loading
  • Where the material is now
  • Whether sorting or breakdown is still needed
  • How long loading may take
  • Whether a container can be placed where you need it

Price comes after the lane is clear

A useful comparison needs an approved pricing and qualification matrix. Until that exists, we should not attach a number to a lane that has not been defined.
